Ven in Swedish, or Hven in Danish, this charming little island lies between Denmark and Sweden, right in the middle of the Øresund Strait.
With untouched nature, quaint fishing harbours, quiet beaches, and vibrant hamlets, Hven more than lives up to its name as “the pearl of the Øresund.”
Departure from Copenhagen by boat at 9:30am, with breakfast served on board. After a 1.5-hour crossing, you’ll arrive at the delightful little harbour of Bäckviken.
On foot, explore the island’s bucolic landscapes, visit the observatory of Tycho Brahe — the renowned 16th-century Danish astronomer — and one of the world’s finest organic whisky distilleries: Backafallsbyn. A must for enthusiasts!
Lunch at the distillery’s restaurant.
Return by boat around 6:00pm.
The season runs from mid-May to the end of August.
A perfect excursion for families with children.
